As unmerited chaos moves through our nation’s federal government and fealty replaces competence as the norm, we are called to hold a high watch, having eyes and ears to know the truth and to recognize what is ours to do.
As I shared last Sunday, I have joined a Unity minister prayer group focused on creating an alternative vision to what is currently unfolding in our nation and our world. Below I am sharing the purpose, affirmations, and commitments of this group – inviting all of you to join in holding fast to the truth we know.
Grounded in Christ Consciousness we take effective action in the world. We participate in bringing forth a United States of America and a world that lives from the Christ values of love, compassion, respect, inclusion, freedom, peace, and abundance for all.
We focus our Consciousness in Spiritual Principle with affirmative prayer statements, including:
There is Only One Presence and One Power in the Universe and in my life and in the life of the USA and the world, God the Good, Omnipotent.
While acknowledging facts of all situations in the USA and in the world and acknowledging all the emotions I may have in response to these facts, I release attitudes of resentment, fear, and limitation. This is for my own good, and the good of all.
I hold the High Watch as I practice the “Golden Key” – seeing God where the trouble seems to be.
I behold the Christ Presence active in all individuals who hold public office, in all institutions of our government, in all people in our country and in the world, and in all actions taken.
I trust that as I behold Spirit at work in, as, and through all, everything that does not express Christ Conscious dissolves and Divine Good comes forth.
I participate daily in holding these affirmations and the prayer below (or a prayer that I develop that expresses similar spiritual concepts):
I am a channel of God’s Love. Through Divine Love, justice prevails, and powerful and good results come forth. I trust the activity of God within myself, all people, and all situations. I give thanks for Divine Intelligence and Divine Grace operating and expressing fully in all people in our country, government, and world. Highest Good for all is the result!

Knowing that prayer and action are the two sides of spiritual consciousness, we also commit to taking action in the world, as called from within, from the spiritual consciousness we are establishing, including
Making financial donations to organizations of our choice that are taking constructive values-based action in our communities, our country, and/or the world.
Regularly participating in volunteer activities with organizations of our choice that are taking constructive values-based action in our communities, our country, and/or the world. (e.g., COPA)
Holding this sacred endeavor in prayer, knowing that all who participate in the collective consciousness are empowered, loved, prospered and blessed.
I will have copies of these affirmations and prayer available on Sunday. And I am contemplating with Michelle how our UMB community might further strengthen and sustain our Christ consciousness in the face of all appearances.
